Overview
Synesther is an interactive installation that explores new ways of communication beyond human language. Inspired by an imagined alien species that communicates through emotions instead of words, the project invites participants to translate their feelings into multisensory outputs such as light, sound, and scent. By interacting with the system, visitors experience how emotions can be expressed and perceived through different sensory channels.
The installation combines Arduino for real-time hardware control with P5.js for synchronized projections and soundscapes. Buttons, light strips, and scent atomizers are coordinated through multiple control units connected to a main controller, allowing the system to respond instantly to user input. Through this immersive setup, Synesther demonstrates how technology can transform emotions into tangible experiences and expand the possibilities of human communication.
